1. The main reason for cylinder pulling is actually the "weld" strain on the surface of the piston, piston ring and cylinder liner due to high temperature. That is, the piston does not produce dry friction between the cylinder liner due to the interruption of the oil film, and the hot friction heat causes the microscopic melting of the metal and the adhesion, and the nearby metal particles are torn off.

2. The fundamental cause of cylinder pulling of diesel generator set is oil film interruption. According to the requirements of the gas seal, the gap between the piston ring and the cylinder liner should be as small as possible, which makes their lubrication conditions very unfavorable. When the contact surface is overloaded, severe friction occurs between the cylinder liner surface and the piston ring working face due to direct contact, resulting in a large amount of friction heat, which causes the temperature of the working surface to rise sharply, and the consequence is that the two friction surfaces are fused and bonded to cause strain.

It can be seen that the oil supply condition is poor, gas channeling is serious, and the contact stress of the parts is too large to destroy the oil film, which is the main reason for pulling the cylinder. In addition to lubrication, matching gap, parts manufacturing quality, improper use may also cause diesel generator set cylinder failure, specifically, there are the following points:

1. The clearance between the piston and the cylinder liner is too small, or it is not well run in the formal load work before.

2. Poor lubrication, such as small gap, thin oil or no oil during assembly.

3. Diesel engine overheating.
